# Mercenary Slots

This is where the real fun and the real game strategy comes in, which gives us creativity.

We quickly saw that Mercenaries have 4 slots available in Divisions.

These correspond exactly to:

<p align="center"><strong>Creature, Equipment, Supplies and Services</strong></p>

We show you the image of a randomly chosen NFT from each of the 4 categories.

<div><figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/9Uqkd3Zuqpt6rpBnNvvT/image%20(95).png" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Common Pet</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/qD4ZDDN9VDPrKswukF3O/image%20(96).png" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Common Weapon</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/e73ylgnNkLOFBH2apV96/image%20(97).png" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Uncommon Red Boar</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/LwSSRqTsCzQfu34USzf1/image%20(98).png" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Mythic Lava Lux</p></figcaption></figure></div>

These 4 NFTs can be tied to Mercenaries and increase the characteristics of a Mercenary and consequently of the whole Division.

**Creature:** add ATK and DEF values to the Mercenary. It's important to note that Creatures are the only NFTs of the four that don't require modification or purchase in the Forge. As with all NFTs, the value is written on the NFT image, and can also be found on what is called the "contract schema".

**Weapon:** give additional ATK and DEF value (in this case each additional weapon requires a Forge slot to be used).

**Supply:** in addition to adding ATK and DEF values, **Red Boar** also allow for a reduction in the Division's movement cost. The usual rule for finding seconds applies, so the value must be multiplied by 10.

**Service:** the **Lava Lux** multiplies the value of the three previous NFTs and the Mercenary itself. The multiplier is written on the NFT itself. Taking for example a value of **x1.23**, it means that the multiplier of **23%** is applied.

Let's take an example:

<figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/FNtftfrROuFAYtIKrh11/image%20(99).png" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

163 ATK and **245 DEF**. For now, let's leave aside the Move Cost and think about how the multiplier on the DEF stat works.

Imagine we've hooked up these NFTs too:

<div><figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/Joys2lt9lTqhukkppMZf/image%20(101).png" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/9Uqkd3Zuqpt6rpBnNvvT/image%20(95).png" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/D4WwFhH4b3Ys55jw3kD2/image%20(102).png" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/cvutpsx7YovwYrk9Iyz1/image%20(100).png" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

* Red Boar value is 24 DEF
* Pet value is 8 DEF
* Gadget value is 54 DEF
* Lava Lux Multiplier is x1.23 DEF

Doing a little math we have: 245 DEF (from Mercenary) + 24 DEF + 8 DEF + 54 DEF = 331 DEF. Multiplied by 1.23 gives us **407 DEF** (rounded down) for this Mercnary.

This means that Lava Lux has multiplied the other NFTs bringing an added value (rounding down) of **76 DEF**

All of these NFTs significantly change the Division and your perspective on it when it comes to making the best choice. Remember that, with the exception of Creatures, all other NFTs require a Forge slot for each equipped NFT.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://planetary-defense-guide.gitbook.io/guide/web-game/divisions-overview/mercenary-slots.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
