# Mercenary Power

We've seen that Mercenaries are the heart of a Division and determine its ATK, DEF, and MOVE. Let's take a look at some NFTs to better understand their composition and how to choose them.

There are 3 types of Mercenaries: Protector, Raider and Multi-skilled.

We said that Mercenaries, like all other NFTs, are made up of the **six rarities**: **Common**, **Uncommon**, **Rare**, **Epic**, **Legendary**, **Mythic**.

So let's try to combine the two by getting a Mythic Raider Mercenary, optimized for attack.

As you can see, this Mercenary has higher ATK values than DEF, so it will perform better in Divisions where our focus is ATK. You can include the other two types of Mercenaries along this one if you want, nothing prevent that.

Now let's look at a Mercenary whose DEF value is greater than his ATK value. Even here the same reasoning as before applies.

Finally let's take a Mercenary who has equal ATK and DEF values.

Our friend from 81 is back<img src="https://content.gitbook.com/content/6kbcVlkhhuJRfUuLf7Tt/blobs/EErHo84ByPLMVrFh26lS/image%20(94).png" alt="" data-size="line">

These are just three examples of the same rarity, but the concept applies equally to other rarities. So choose your Mercenary wisely based on your Division's position.

We won't go into ATK, DEF, and MOVE values, as we covered them earlier in the Division. Instead, we'll touch on an important aspect: the **MAX Mint**. Each NFT has a maximum number of Mints, and as you might imagine, higher rarities will have a lower number of Mints. Considering that all Mercenary NFTs, as well as others, derive from blends (for example, blending materials can generate Mercenaries), once the maximum number of blends and therefore Mints is completed, there will be **no more NFTs of that type to craft**. For example, mythical NFTs have a maximum number of 20. Once the 20 copies are minted, the only way to obtain them is to buy from other players on the various WAX marketplaces.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://planetary-defense-guide.gitbook.io/guide/web-game/divisions-overview/mercenary-power.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
