# Altar

Trade the Prayers you earn from World Boss fights for an Ancient's Relics — lasting boosts to your missions, strikes, and crafting.

Altar opens the current Ancient's market, where you spend Prayers and Coins on that Ancient's Relics. At the top of the screen it shows your active blessings — each one listed with its icon and effect or stack count — followed by how many Prayers you have left and your coin balance.

### Prayers

Every Relic costs one Prayer plus its Coin price, though that Coin price isn't fixed — it drops if you hold the World Boss Champion Discord role or a flash promo is running (see Discounts and promos below). You earn Prayers by fighting World Boss steps — phase broken, threshold crossed, wave repelled, limb crippled, and the final blow all grant +1 Prayer. You can hold a maximum of 6 Prayers at a time. The shelves hold far more Relics than you'll ever have Prayers for, but stocks are share among the whole server. Once you run out, you can't buy another Relic until you earn more.

Six types of relics — Chest, Key, Coins, Mint, Strike, and Preservation — plus a special Cult Blessing. The image below shows Krag'Ul's current Relics as an example of what each type looks like in practice.

### Your Loadout

Not every Relic you own has to be active. In Profile → Loadout you can pause any Relic so it stops applying its effect and stops being spent — useful if you're saving a limited-use Relic for a specific push, or just want to swap your active set around.

### Restocks

Each World Boss stage cleared by your server replenishes one-third of the stock for that Boss's specific Relic; thus, a defeated Boss sees its Relic stock fully replenished.

### Discounts and promos

Twice a day, a random flash promo knocks 10% to 40% off a Relic's coin price for one hour — worth checking the Altar regularly so you don't miss one. Climbing an Ancient's fight leaderboard also pays off: staying in the top 15 or the top 3 earns you the World Boss Champion Discord role, which grants a standing 15% discount on that Ancient's restocking Relic and stacks with any flash promo running at the same time. Finally, when an Ancient is repelled for good, the top 3 fighters receive its featured Victory Relic for free, while every other participant is entered into a lucky draw for a chance at it.

### Notifications

In Profile, toggle the 🙏 option to get a direct message when a Relic you're watching restocks, and another for when a flash promo goes live — handy if you don't want to keep checking the Altar yourself.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://planetary-defense-guide.gitbook.io/guide/discord-game/altar.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
