# What is Planetary Defense?

### Two ways to save the galaxy

Planetary Defense is playable in two ways: through the Web Game and through the Discord Game. Both connected to the Planetary Defense Universe. Playing on both platforms is strongly recommended if you want to stay active and grow your Divisions.

#### The Web Game

The Web Game is Planetary Defense's full strategy experience: running missions, managing territory,  crafting NFTs, and competing against other players.

It currently exists in two versions, Version 2 and the newer Version 3 (V3), which are both active at the same time while Planetary Defense migrates players over to V3. Version 2 will eventually be phased out, though no date has been set yet.

Right now, Version 2 and Version 3 don't offer exactly the same features. In Version 2, you can defend your Alien Worlds land, do PvP and use your Alien Worlds NFTs along your Planetary Defense NFTs. In Version 3, you can freely create your Divisions, run various solo missions, upgrade your forge, obtain DEF Token, and many more features are being added over time. PvP, for now, is tied specifically to Version 2. Alien Worlds NFT integration is also planned for V3, at which point your Alien Worlds NFTs will connect directly to your Planetary Defense stats.

#### The Discord Game

The Discord Game lets you play entirely inside Discord through a bot: running daily missions, looting Coins, Quantum Chests, Quantum Keys and Fragments, minting rewards into NFTs, repeling World Boss with Comunity and participating in Wars. Discord Game is closely tied to Web Game, since minted NFTs can be blended to craft playable NFT on the Web Game. It can also be played on its own, but combining both is the best way to grow faster.
